Tajikistan Visa Information

As of January 1, 2022, Tajikistan allows visa-free entry for up to 30 days for citizens of 52 countries including the U.S., Canada, Australia, and most EU nations. Travelers from other countries, or those planning longer stays, must obtain a visa.

Visa Application:
Eligible travelers can easily apply online via the official e-Visa portal: www.evisa.tj. The process is straightforward, and embassy visits are usually not required.

Visa on Arrival:
Available at Dushanbe Airport for citizens of 71 countries for stays up to 45 days, though applying for an e-Visa in advance is recommended for faster processing.

Registration Requirement:
Travelers staying longer than 10 days under the visa-free regime must register at an OVIR office. This is not necessary if entering with an e-Visa.

GBAO Permit:
A special permit is required to visit the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Oblast (GBAO), available during the e-Visa process or in-country for $20.
