This 10-day guided trekking expedition offers an unforgettable journey through Tajikistan’s stunning Fann Mountains, known for their turquoise lakes, towering peaks, and dramatic alpine scenery. Beginning and ending in Dushanbe, the route traverses remote mountain terrain, including the iconic Kulikalon and Alaudin Lakes, and reaches the high point at Chimtarga Pass (4,740 m). Camp under the stars, cross high-altitude passes, and experience the hospitality of rural mountain communities. Designed for seasoned hikers seeking both physical challenge and cultural immersion, this trek is fully supported with guides, porters, and logistics for a safe and enriching adventure.
Itinerary
Day 1 :
Arrival in Dushanbe – Transfer to Artuch
- Arrival at Dushanbe International Airport, meet your guide and driver.
- Transfer to Atlas 4* hotel and rest (3 hours).
- After breakfast, drive to Artuch village (240 km / ~5–6 hours).
- Check-in at mountain cottages (2,200 m). Rest and prepare for trekking. Overnight in Artuch (Cottages at 2,200 m).
Day 2 :
Artuch – Kulikalon Lakes
- Start the trekking expedition.
- Trekking distance: 10 km, +700 m elevation, 3–4 hours
- Ascend through pine forests to the Kulikalon Lakes Basin (14 turquoise lakes).
- Marvel at peaks over 4,000–5,000 m: Adamtash, Mirali, Rudaki, etc.
- Set up camp on the shore of Dushoha Lake (2,900 m). Overnight at Kulikalon Lakes (Camping).
Day 3 :
Kulikalon – Alaudin Lake via Alaudin Pass
- Distance: 12 km, +900 m / -1050 m, 6 hours
- Hike up to Alaudin Pass (3,800 m) with sweeping views of Kulikalon Wall.
- Descend to the vibrant Alaudin Lakes (2,750 m) nestled under towering cliffs.
- Views of Chapdara Peak (5,042 m) and Chapdara Valley. Overnight at Alaudin Lake (Camping).
Day 4 :
Alaudin – Mutnoye Lake
- Distance: 8 km, +800 m, 3–4 hours
- Trek through alpine terrain with views of:
- Zamok Peak (5,070 m)
- Energy Peak (5,120 m)
- Chimtarga Peak (5,489 m)
- Encounter glacial lakes like the circular Piala Lake.
- Camp at Mutnoye Lake (3,500 m) beneath dramatic cliffs. Overnight at Mutnoye Lake (Camping).
Day 05 :
Mutnoye – Camp under Chimtarga Pass
- Distance: 5 km, +1000 m, 4–5 hours
- Climb through moraine and glacier fields to the base of Chimtarga Pass.
- Towering cliffs and panoramic alpine views unfold.
- Camp beneath the pass at 4,500 m. Overnight under Chimtarga Pass (Camping).
Day 06 :
Chimtarga Pass – Bolshoy Allo Lake
- Early morning ascent of Chimtarga Pass (4,740 m) – the highest point of the trek.
- Spectacular views: Chimtarga, Bodkhona, Chapdara, Big & Small Ganza, Sugar Head Peak.
- Steep descent through Zindan Gorge to the stunning Bolshoy Allo Lake (3,150 m).
- Distance: 16 km, +240 m / -1590 m, 6–7 hours Overnight at Bolshoy Allo Lake (Camping).
Day 07 :
Bolshoy Allo – Mali Allo Lake
- Continue descending through Zindan Gorge to the peaceful Mali Allo Lake.
- Distance: 12 km, -1380 m, ~6 hours
- Relaxing riverside camping in a scenic forested area. Overnight at Mali Allo Lake (Camping).
Day 08 :
Mali Allo – Zimtut Village
- Final leg of trekking through lush valleys and village paths.
- Distance: 10 km, 4–5 hours
- Arrival at Zimtut Village, where the trekking ends.
- Enjoy local hospitality and home-style food. Overnight in Zimtut (Guesthouse or Homestay).
Day 09 :
Zimtut – Dushanbe
- Drive back to Dushanbe (~6–7 hours).
- Optional visit: Ismaili Somoni Monument and Rudaki Park if time allows.
- Check-in at Atlas Hotel 4* and rest. Overnight in Dushanbe (4* Hotel).
Day 10 :
Departure
- Transfer to Dushanbe International Airport.
- End of Services.
